We will welcome spring back with a sensual journey of honey hosted by Bee Haven and paired with spring white wines with notes of honeysuckle and beeswax. Bee Haven is a family business with a passion for providing naturally healthy products from the hives. Their city hives are tucked away in the hills of the Cincinnati area, while the country hives are up river with friends and family in Clermont County. We will create a spring inspired menu and will teach everyone how to cook with fresh herbs and edible flowers.

Because Portugal’s wine culture developed in relative isolation, many grape varieties do not grow anywhere else in the world. If you don’t recognize the grape variety on a Portuguese wine label, it’s a good thing. There are over 250 indigenous varieties that have adapted well to the Portuguese landscape and are delicious. To many wine experts, Portugal is the last frontier of wine in Western Europe; there is still so much to be tasted and explored. We will explore a variety of red & white Portuguese wines and with Caldo Verde soup and Piri Piri chicken made by Chef Phil with port and chocolate for dessert.

Enjoy a lovely evening learning about cheese making and enjoying German wines from Urban Stead cheese shop in East Walnut Hills. Scott and Andrea Robbins started Urban Stead Cheese as a way to create a great local product that had a sense of community. That’s why they create cheese with milk from an Ohio Valley farmer and their leftover whey from cheesemaking is then used to feed another local farmer’s livestock.

History teacher, Matthew Photides will teach us all about Prohibition as we enjoy hearty wines on a cold evening from California and Oregon. Post Malone: Maison #9 In the wise words of rapper Post Malone, "Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy." His wine comes in a slim glass bottle decorated with the image of a sword and rose. Post Malone's wine is a taste of the French Riviera in a bottle

LVE: Singer John Legend partnered with Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley for his line of LVE wines. While the winery is based in the United States, LVE sources their grapes from the South of France.

Miraval: Brad Pitt joined the wine world by pairing up with Perrin, one of the leading French wine families. He first began producing wine with ex-wife Angelina Jolie after purchasing Château Miraval, an estate in Provence, where the couple frequently vacationed. Now the actor-slash-philanthropist is helming the company on his own.

Spain is the 3rd largest producer of wine in the world and the largest wine country in terms of land dedicated to vineyards. Join your ADV friends as we enjoy a variety of Spanish wines and a Sangria. Sangria means "bloodletting" in Spanish and in Portuguese. A traditional Spanish punch, sangria traditionally consists of red wine and chopped fruit , often with other non-alcoholic ingredients or spirits.

We will enjoy a traditional Spanish paella, salad and bread to accompany our wines.

A variety of Argentian wines will be paired with Chimichurri steak and empanadas.

I started my journey into wines by visiting Ritz Carlton bars by ordering one glass so I could take pictures of their wines lists and drink my way through them. I am excited to share some of my early favorites and the memories behind them with all of you!

A very special evening with Jim Duane of Seavey Vineyards Napa, CA!

Seavey’s production from the estate’s 40 planted acres is approximately 3,000 cases annually. This small-scale production allows them to maintain consistently high standards in both the vineyard and the winery. they have never bought a grape and we farm our land with their in-house crew. The steep, rocky hillsides produce small, thick-skinned berries with outstanding tannins which must be handled very gently. As a result, their winemaking approach is gentle and patient. Stewarded by Jim Duane, Seavey’s winemaker, and also Philippe Melka, consulting winemaker, Seavey’s goal is to create masterful, soulful wines that exude a sense of place and age gracefully.

Jim has been Seavey’s winemaker since 2011 after stints at Robert Mondavi Winery and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars as well as a Master’s Degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis. Now with a dozen years of legendary Seavey wines to his credit, Jim has proven himself an elite winemaker whose artistry and skill continue to evolve and reach new heights with every new vintage.
